 Describe important physical examination and imaging characteristics that lead to proper diagnosis of common orthopaedic conditions in adults and children.
 Apply basic science and clinical research principles in order to arrive at evidence-based treatment decisions for common orthopaedic conditions in adults and children.
 Categorize orthopaedic disease severity so as to allow for proper selection of operative versus non-operative treatment.
 Summarize common complications associated with treatments offered within orthopaedic surgery and their management.
 Evaluate relative benefits (i.e. likely outcomes) of various treatment options in order make optimal choices based on specific patient characteristics.
